HORSEED Group of Companies, a privately owned Limited Liability Company, incorporated in January 1987 with its headquarters in Bosaso, Somalia with regional footprints in Kenya, Djibouti, and Ethiopia. The Company has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the leading purpose-driven companies in the Horn of Africa. Over the last 15 years, Horseed Group of Companies was Somalia’s main importer and distributor of all necessary Foods, Construction and Building Materials, Petroleum, and Other General merchandise. Furthermore, HORSEED Group of Companies has also established collaborations with internationally recognized manufacturers, suppliers, and industry leaders from China, India, Austria, Turkey, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and many more countries.

Since its founding in January 1987, HORSEED Group has become a nationally recognized, award-winning company with a consistent record of excellence in all phases of Foodstuff Supplies, Building and Construction Materials, Petroleum Supplies, Real Estate, and Water Supply. That track record includes an exceptionally broad range of specialties. Enhancing this expertise and versatility is our capital strength and our primary commitment to everyone whose lives we touch.

One of those factors is employment, throughout the past 30 years; Horseed Group has created thousands of jobs for Somalis in a country characterized by severe unemployment and a lack of conducive working conditions. Corporate Responsibility.  

HORSEED Group’s corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are often broken down into four categories: environmental, philanthropic, ethical, and economic responsibility. Environmental initiatives focus on preservation of natural resources, while philanthropic initiatives focus on donating to worthy causes that may not relate to a business, including to Alms (Zakat) to poor needy Somalis; Employment creation and public contribution; humanitarian assistance to drought affected populations. Ethical responsibility ensures fair and honest business operations, while economic responsibility promotes the fiscal support of the goals above.

Our corporate accountability states the obligation and responsibility to give an explanation or reason for our company’s actions and conduct. Transparency ensures that stakeholders can have confidence in the decision-making and management processes of a company. While transparency means openness, a willingness by our company to provide clear information to shareholders and other stakeholders. For example, the openness and willingness to disclose financial performance figures which are truthful and accurate.
